Flashlights and Helmet Lights :
Every firefighter involved in structural and wildland firefighting should be carrying at least two flashlights. The primary light enables the firefighter to have some visibility in smoke conditions and a backup light for the inevitable time when the primary light fails.
Many firefighters prefer helmets with light attachments. This enables them to be hands-free and use this as their primary light. Firefighters routinely have their secondary light clipped to their bunker gear for easy access.
